Portland - Gerald "Jerry" D. Johnson, 72, of Portland, died after a long illness on April 18, 2017. Jerry was born in Woodland, ME on September 30, 1944 and the son of Raymond and Eva (Dumond) Johnson.
Jerry was a self-employed Mason Contractor of T & M Masonry, Inc. for many years. He enjoyed working in his garden, and playing darts. Most of all, he loved to spend time entertaining family and friends. His favorite nights were spent relaxing with family and friends at Wassamki Springs Campground, in front of a crackling wood fire after a night of dancing to his favorite country music.
Jerry is survived by his wife Robin; his son Tyler and wife Caroline, his seven sisters, Esther Williams of Ohio, Mae Marx and Claudia Herrick of Westbrook, June Dion of Biddeford, Elaine Sidell of Augusta, Linda Jackson of Portland, Carol Hall of Cape Elizabeth, and a brother, Michael Yankowsky, of Portland. He is also survived by his step father Oscar Yankowsky and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by both of his parents, two sisters Virgina Johnson and Odessa Valley, and three brother Lloyd, Richard, and Melvin Johnson.
