One of my most vivid memories of Deering was a creative writing class I took with Angus our senior year. He wrote a wonderful story about fishing for pogies , which was so foreign to me and yet so perfect in describing life on Casco Bay. As a teacher now, I often tell students about the bet he lost in middle school that ended with him getting a mohawk, and later a shaved head that girls decorated . Am I remembering correctly that he'd lost the bet to his grandfather? It is no surprise that he continued to have an impact on people who only knew him casually. My deepest sympathies for your loss.

We lost a great person on Monday. I knew Angus well through the GNG Lacrosse Club, where he was brave enough to become the president when our former president, Glen, stepped down. He was very involved with the team, and for that, I am very thankful for. Thoughts and prayers go out to the McDuffie family.
