Many memories of Steve, he was one of my mom's favorite friends that my brother Rick had. And he knew it. I was so glad to have spent some time with him last year while Rick was fighting his battle as well. We had some good talks along with some good laughs. Rest easy Steve. Give Max and Shirley a hug for me and Rick and Rocky a good slap ! Lol. My deepest condolences to Chris, Johnny, Kathy and Tommy and of course Jeanne and the girs.

Such a loss. I met the Griibbin boys when we started,at Lincoln. Marty became a close friend as did Steve. While everyone was listening to sappy 70s music, those guys introduced me to Lou Reed and David Bowie. Many a day was spent in their attic bedroom cranking rock & roll. Later in life, while our new hull was being assembled on the dry dock, my dad, brother Gene and I were doing an inspection with the dockmaster when I hear someone calling my name out from the top of the wall. It was Steve who was operating a crane. We all laughed when I said if you guys knew his background, you wouldn't allow him up there. Lol. My deepest condolences to all of the Gribbin family but especially to Allison and Chelsea. I know his pain is gone and he's hangin with Rocky and Moonie.

Steven ( the basic rigger) Gribbins, may you rest in peace.  We worked a lot together over the years in Portland and Bath.  We had a lot of time for conversation about our personal lives.  His daughters would come up quite often in our talks, he loved them dearly.  In the last few years whenever I was in portland visiting my sister, I would call him to go have lunch at the great lost bear. In those times he would also mention his wonderful sister and brother I law,  who he said were very helpful in his time of need.  Although I have never met his family, I feel them in spirit.
My deepest condolences to all his family.      Marty Hersom
