Robert D. Patchell Obituary

PORTLAND – It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Robert D. Patchell (Bob/Patch) on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022 in his sleep. He was born December 23, 1962, the first son of Donald E. Patchell & Patricia (Donovan) Nevers at MMC. Bob grew up in the Nason’s Corner area of Portland, attended local schools, and graduated from Deering High School in 1981.

He excelled in football & wrestling at DHS and ice hockey with Casco Bay Youth Hockey from Bantam thru high school. He attended Plymouth State College for a year before deciding it was not meant for him and joined his stepdad in Leon B. Nevers Painting Inc. After several years he branched out on his own starting RDP Finishing doing custom finishing of high end cabinetry & furniture.

Bob loved sports, especially football. Talking football and other sports with his friends was something he enjoyed, but mostly talking sports with his son Garrett.  On weekends, he loved watching TV/movies with his wife and kids, going for drives to OOB for pizza & fries. He enjoyed his daily phone conversations with his daughter Kylie that he cherished.

He was married to his wife, Robin (Warren) & would have celebrated 36 years this June 14th. They had two children. He had just become a grandfather and was excited to spend time and make memories with Amari.
