I first met Phil when I was asked to provide an estimate for doing remodeling to his house. After meeting with him I was leaving to work up a quote. I noticed Phil's clothing and bumper stickers on his car proclaiming he was a Marine. When leaving I said "Semper Fi" to him and he quickly said, "WAIT! WERE YOU IN THE CORPS?" I told him I was in the Army from "62" to "68". He said, "Well, I don't have any problems with the Army"' at which I said, "Well, Phil, I don't have any problems with the Marines". I got the job, and Phil became one of my closest friends.
Strangely, my wife, Sallie passed away on the same day this year. I am grieving for both Sallie and Phil.
