What a character Merle was! I remember for many years he would come in to J's, open up the cooler where we keep the beer (behind the bar), take out his beers as he wanted them and just leave the appropriate amount of money on the bar. And of course, he'd call us all "marvelous looking women". What a big, old soul. Condolences to his friends and family. He will be missed by many, but he certainly touched many during his time on earth. So there's that. Cheers, Merle!
