I was so fortunate to work with this grand lady for many years in Portland Maine on Munjoy Hill. She was the funniest, kindest and most generous teacher I’ve known. She certainly brightened many children’s lives over the years. RIP Marilyn

Mrs. Todd was a teacher you could never forget and I'm sure has been part of hundreds if not thousands of lives. She was my Kindergarten  Teacher in 1965 at Nathan Clifford.  She loved her class so much she transferred to the 1st grade to have us all for another year.  She influenced so many people in her own way.  Sometimes notices like this are not seen by everyone that probably really would have like to known of her passing.  I was just cleaning up favorites on my browser and connected to the Portland Press Herald.  You wonder what has happened to her students and where they all are now.  I had a fellow classmate, a Portland Native, Actor, and lived just across from Nathan Clifford, his name is Judd Nelson.  People like that should know, reflect, and remember a teacher that was able to have you enjoy school and education.  My deepest sympathies to her family and I hope she lived a beautiful life.

I had Mr's Todd as my teacher at North School and when my mother dropped me off at school my younger sister would cry because she didnt get to go also, so Mr's Todd would let her come to school occasionly with me. She was a wonderful teacher who cared about all her students and she will be missed.

Marilyn became an instant friend and mentor to me as I started my teaching career at North School. I cherish the memories of our lunch break walks around the North School neighbored as well as our many summer trips to spend the day taking the ferry to Long Island to spend a day on Squeaky Sands beach. We had so many good times together. Marilyn you will be missed but never forgotten!
