Lillian Johnston Obituary

Lillian G. Johnston (Wilson), age 95, died November 20, 2022 in Scarborough, ME.   She was born in Ludlow, MA where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Gordon Johnston, in 1951.  Together, they raised their family in Ludlow, before moving to Maine to be closer to their daughter.  They fulfilled their dream of living at the beach and created many memories for their grandchildren there.   They later moved to Gray, Maine to help with childcare before and after school. Above all, Lillian loved spending time with friends and family.  She also enjoyed knitting and quilting, making many heirloom quilts.   She was an avid reader, reading 2-3 books a week.  Lillian was a lifelong member of the Order of Eastern Stars.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parent, Peter, and Lily Wilson), her husband (Gordon Johnston), her son (Bruce Johnston) and her brother (Rodney David Wilson).   She is survived by her sister, Marjorie Munroe, her daughter, Carol Renell (George), her grandchildren Sarah Chandler (Dylan), Brian Renell (Ally) and great granddaughters, Addy, and Gennie Renell, as well as many nieces and nephews.

At Lillian’s request, there will be no services and the family will gather privately.    Donations may be made to the Gosnell Memorial Hospice Center in Scarborough, ME, or the Shriners Hospital in Springfield MA.
