Kym Dorr with his wife Jeannie began volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House Portland in 2001. As soon as he arrived for his every other week three-hour shift he would make a fresh pot of coffee. He would fill to-go cups for the families as they headed out the door off to the hospital to see their seriously ill children. The families would continually share this cup of coffee was like a warm hug from such a nice volunteer. Kym always had a story to share to keep the staff laughing and his hard work was very appreciated in getting rooms ready for families checking into the house.
