Katie Ann Babicz

Katie Ann Babicz, 39, of Westbrook, passed away on March 21, 2021 in Portland. She was born in Portland, ME on April 16, 1981, the daughter of Theresa A. (Dempsey) Mazziotti and Daryl G. Lavigne.

Katie was a homemaker, a good mother and a wonderful daughter.  She was a talented skier in her youth. Katie was an avid gamer and was always very generous. She especially loved traveling to Las Vegas with Papa and Dick.

Katie had a special place in her heart for animals, especially cats.

She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Katie continued her generosity with her final gift of organ donation.

She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Bill and Irma Dempsey, paternal grandparents Jack and Francine Lavigne, mother Theresa Mazziotti, and ex-husband Allen Babicz.

Katie is survived by her son William Babicz; father Daryl Lavigne and wife Paula; sister Kolbie Lavigne; Uncle Joe and Aunt Donna Gilbert; Uncle Larry and Aunt Shirley Dempsey; Uncle David and Aunt Jane Lavigne; step sons Josh, Anthony and Justin Babicz; numerous cousins; stepmother Theresa Lavigne, and stepfather Joe Mazziotti.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021 from 5 to 7 PM at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home in Portland. A graveside service will be held at  11 AM on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Brooklawn Memorial Park in Portland.
