Portland-Judith “Judy” L. Parks, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at her home after a long and courageous battle with Cancer.
She was born in Traverse City, Michigan on August 29, 1945 the daughter of Walter G. and Mary L. (Haywood) Faron.
Judy spent the last 58 years with her beloved husband Dan raising their family of three kids Kevin, Theresa, and Linda.
She was an avid reader enjoying romance and sci-fi novels often reading two or three books at a time. Judy also enjoyed cross stitch which included making items for the grandkids, and traveling to places such as California, Nevada, Arizona, Canada and Mexico. She also enjoyed playing Bingo. Judy and Dan enjoyed taking trips to the Oxford Casino to play the slots.
When her mother-in-law passed, Judy continued the family holiday traditions by having the family at her home where everyone was always welcome. She was a very proud grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren watching them grow and being there for them.
She is predeceased by her parents.
Judy is survived by her loving and dedicated husband of 58 years Daniel L. Parks, her three children Kevin and his wife Lise Parks, Theresa and her husband Anthony Shaw, Linda and her husband Andrew Rhea. She is also survived by her four grandchildren Megan Shaw and her fiancé Don Vellani, Samantha Rhea, Allison Rhea, and Sarah Parks. She is survived by her brother William Faron and his wife Elizabeth of Annapolis, MD, and her two sister’s Peggy Faron, of Chandler, AZ and Becky Richardson and her husband Dana of Mesa, AZ.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2021 from 4 to 7 PM at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home 660 Brighton Avenue in Portland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June, 7, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Pius X church 492 Ocean Avenue in Portland. Burial will follow in New Calvary Cemetery in South Portland.
