Obituary for John Webster Taylor 
1935 - 2020 
Westbrook – John Webster Taylor, age 84 of Westbrook, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at the Maine Veteran’s Home in Scarborough. 
John was born in Cambridge, MA on September 29, 1935, a son of William W. and Rachel Charlotte (Andrews) Taylor​. He​ attended ​the ​Cambridge ​Public ​schools. John​ faithfully served his country in the US Navy from 1955 -1957 and in 1961, John married Judith Ann Grimstad.  They moved to Westbrook in 2006 coming from Medford, MA. After​ working as a salesman for Crown Shade & Screen Co. in Boston, ​John owned and operated ​his own company, ​Accent Shade and Screen. Following his retirement, ​John​ worked at Home Depot. John​ was a member of the Somerville, MA Lodge of Mason, AF & AM.  He enjoyed painting​,​ ​singing, photography​, ​and​ reading history and politics. John enjoyed traveling, taking ​several cruises in recent years. 
Besides his parents, John is predeceased by five brothers, William, David, James, Robert and Thomas; and a sister, Gertrude Williams.  He leaves behind his wife, Judith of 59 years; three daughters, Carolyn Taylor of Stoneham, MA, Janet Taylor of Windham, ME, and Jennifer Taylor and her husband, David Paczkowski of Westbrook; one sister, Janet Johnson of Portland; three grandchildren, Zachary, Gavin and Natalie; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held by the family at a later date.
