John William DeCoste

I discovered John's obituary while searching for names of forgotten friends on the internet.
I knew John for about six months in 1968 when he was my boss at that junk base in Tuy Hoa Vietnam. I won't say he saved my life, but he taught me how to survive during that strange war. My best navy boss. Friendships in those times tended to happen quickly and end without a chance to keep in touch.
I don't know how to prove I am not an imposter except to say that the nurses at Phu Heip Air Force hospital thought he looked like Paul Newman.
I would like to share other memories with the family, including pictures I think I can dig out.
