James Brown Obituary

James C Brown, 75, of Scarborough, passed away at his home peacefully on July 23, 2022. Jim was born in Manhattan, NY on October 28, 1946, the son of Charles and Vera Brown. Jim graduated from Deering High School in 1965 and served in the United States Marine Corp from 1965 to 1969 where he earned the Purple Heart during conflict in the Vietnam War. He retired from the US Postal Service in Portland ME after 32 years and later worked for Enterprise Rent A Car where he loved driving to different locations. Jim and his wife Beverly loved their trips traveling to Florida and later cruises on Disney Cruise Lines.

Jim is predeceased by his Mother and Father as well as Sister Janet Johnson.  Survived by Wife Beverly, Daughter Becky and Husband Jason Roberts of Hooksett NH, Daughter Dawn and Husband Greg Stevens of Gorham ME. Grandchildren Madison, Kaitlyn, Trent and Brooke.  Also survived by Sisters Ida Tanguay and Isabelle Cail along with numerous In-laws and many Nieces and Nephews.

Visiting hours will be held at A.T. Hutchins, 660 Brighton Ave Portland ME Thursday July 28 from 5pm to 7pm.  Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Friday July 29, 2022 at the funeral home.

Interment will follow  in New Calvary Cemetery in South Portland. If  so desired contributions in Jim's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice..
