Irene Morgan Obituary

HOLLIS - Irene K. (Jackson) Morgan, 78, of Hollis died peacefully in her daughter and son-in-law’s home after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis and heart disease. Irene was born in Portland, ME on May 22, 1943 to Frank and Margaret (Thurlow) Jackson. Irene worked for Fairchild’s, Cedar, but spent most of her career at Maine Medical Center/Nordex. She spent all her free time with her husband, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and best friend Jane Miles. Irene and husband Wayne lived in Naples, ME for 35 years prior to moving to Hollis. Irene loved spending time at the Wynn family camp on Sebago Lake each summer. Irene loved to traveled around Maine taking pictures of lighthouses and shopping with her husband.

Irene is predeceased by her father Frank Jackson, mother Margaret Jackson, Robert Jackson, sister Pauline Jackson, brother-in-law Tomas Gouveia all of Rhode Island; step-daughter Julie Morgan; best friend Jane (Shaw) Miles of Yarmouth, ME; and brother-in-law’s Byron Morgan of South Portland and Richard Morgan of Bailey’s Island, sister-in-law Barbara (Morgan)Thurlow of FL and Jean (Morgan) McCarthy of South Portland.
