George went to work in the family business, Giese’s Market, located at 1651 Main Avenue in Clifton, N.J. and worked as a butcher and grocery store owner for 20 years before going to work for the United States Department Agriculture where he worked for 30 years.

George married Antoinette DenBoer on July 11, 1959 and remained married to the love of his life for 61 years until Antoinette’s death in 2020.  He lived in Clifton, NJ., Surfside Beach, SC. and Brunswick, Me. during his retirement years and enjoyed traveling between the three locations.

He leaves behind two children, Susan Giese Moore, and George John Giese and four grandchildren: Michael G Moore Jr., Elise M. Moore, William Giese and Georgia C. Until his death he lived with his son, George J. Giese after his wife’s death in March of 2020 in Yarmouth Maine.

George had a very full life and was very fortune to be a single child surrounded by love his whole life.   He enjoyed his careers, his family, and his animals.  He was a passionate animal lover always having a dog by his side throughout his life. His knowledge of butchering meats and love of foods preparation was his passion.   He also had a passion for loving his wife and doing his best to make her happy.

He was a lifetime member of the Free Masons both in New Jersey and in Ohio. He loved to ski and was a founding member of the New Jersey Whiz Skiers Club located in Waitsfield, Vermont at the Mad River Glen Ski Area.   He was an avid sports enthusiast having season tickets when younger to the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League and later in life season tickets to the New York Jets National Football League team.

George was from a generation that lived life in a very black and white way with no hidden agenda, was honest and hardworking and we will miss him terribly.
