Fernande Boudreau Obituary

South Portland – Fernande (Fern) Gloria Tardif Boudreau passed away at home after a brief illness on Monday, December 14, 2020. Fern was born in St. Leonard, New Brunswick and eventually made her home with her husband Albert in Caribou, Maine.

Fern followed her passion and creativity, and opened the Lavender Puff in Caribou, a successful business she owned for over 35 years. She was active in the community throughout her time in Caribou, serving on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in many capacities over the years, two Save Loring campaigns, and was a lifetime member of her sorority, Beta Sigma Phi. Fern lived a good life, worked hard, and loved her family endlessly. After retiring to Florida and then Southern Maine, Fern continued to work, and finally retired at the end of 2019.

Fern was predeceased by her parents, Leo and Emma Tardif, and her brother Zino, all from Canada.

Surviving is her husband Albert Boudreau; her children Guy Boudreau and his wife Linda of South Portland, ME, Eugene (Gene) Boudreau and his wife Brenda of Snellville, Ga, Nelson Boudreau and his wife Trish of Davie, FL, Darlene Stevens and her husband Patrick of Windham, ME, and Danette Madore of Mapleton, ME. She is also survived by a special friend, Susan Rowe, Fort Fairfield, ME and her sisters, Pauline, Doris, Lola and Jill. She leaves behind several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was beloved by all who knew her.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be a small service for immediate family next summer.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to make a donation should support those who are hungry by giving to a local food bank.
