Evelyn Thompson Obituary

Evelyn Louise (Evy,Nana, Mimi, Nanny T.) Thompson passed with her loving Daughters and Son-in-law Mark: whom she affectionately referred to as her ‘rock’ by her side.

She was born in Waterville, ME the Daughter of Roland I. & Marion E. Story (Trott). Evelyn was a beautiful person inside and out and had the most captivating eyes that her beloved Son Donny Jr. inherited. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride & joy. Celebrating their life accomplishments and holidays were special moments for her, especially Christmas. She married Donald A. Thompson in 1957 and they were married for 61 years until his passing on January 22, 2019.

She worked as a Front End Manager/ Hostess at The Village Cafe for 30 plus years. Anyone who knew Evelyn adored her and always referred to her as a special lady and a loyal friend. She was extremely particular with regard to her hair; White Rain was her spray of choice and she used enough so a piece of hair wouldn’t move even in hurricane like winds!

She was predeceased by her Son Donny Jr. in 2002 and that was, by far the most difficult loss in her lifetime. She cherished and wore a necklace pendant with Donny Jr’s picture etched on it every day since his passing and that gave her some comfort, however, there wasn’t a day that went by where she didn’t grieve his loss. In addition to her parents, Husband, and Son she was predeceased by her Grandson Stevie Reali.

Evelyn is survived by Daughters Deborah Reali (Steven) of Hollis, Linda Verrill (Mark) of Gorham, 8 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren and Step Brother Don Presnell. There will be no visiting hours. A private burial will be held in June 2020 for her along with a full military burial for her Husband. They will be laid to rest where their beloved Son Donny Jr. is buried.

The family wishes to thank the staff at The Gorham House for their compassionate care; especially Nancy & Annie of whom she developed a special bond with.
