Portland-Edward Eugene Crooker Jr., 61, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on December 28, 2022.
He was born on December 2, 1961 in Portland the son of Edward Eugene Crooker Sr. and Louise V. (Norton) Crooker.
Edward was married to his wife Dorie Bernice Pierce for over 40 years they settled in Portland and raised their family.
Ed was known for helping those who struggled with drug and alcohol addiction at times opening his doors to offer a place to stay if needed. This willingness to be there for others in their times of need was very consistent with his Christian faith which was very strong for him.
Edward was a very proud father of his daughter Kim and son Eddie he also enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. His hobbies included building dioramas, flying R/C planes, building Train Sets, and slot car tracks.
Ed was predeceased by his parents Edward and Louis Crooker.
He was the youngest of three children including his sister Donna (Joe Rosario) and Rosemary Shaw.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years Dorie (Pierce) Crooker, his daughter Kim and her husband Brad, and his son Eddie Crooker III and his girlfriend Kellie Darling. He is also survived by seven grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
Ed was a very caring person and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A time of visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 10AM to 11AM at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 11AM with burial immediately following in Old Calvary Cemetery
A Celebration of Life for Ed will be held from 5-8 PM Friday, January 6. at Keeley’s Banquet Hall 178 Warren Avenue in Portland.
