Connie May Pierce

Portland-Connie May Pierce (Rowing)

Passed away on April 20, 2021 after a long illness of lung cancer at her Rosemont Avenue Home, where she resided with Sandy Donovan. Her companion/soulmate of 44 years.

She was born July 24, 1944 in Wellsburg, WV. The daughter of Denzil and Dorothy (Atwell) Rowing, attending schools in West, VA and Miami Florida.

Connie had worked at Fairchild Semiconductor for many years and for the last 18 years of her life she worked at St. Joseph’s College, she loved and was loved by her college family.

Connie’s greatest joy was her children and grandchildren, she enjoyed taking them to the beach, fishing, Fun Town and just hanging out. One of her family traditions was going to Old Orchard Beach every year with all the family to celebrate her birthday. She also enjoyed traveling back to West VA AND VA, N.C. and CT. to visit family. One of her greatest enjoyments was watching her favorite game shows on TV with her daughter.

She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Denny Rowing and John Nielsen.

Surviving is her companion/soulmate Sandra Donovan of 44 years, her daughter Dorothy Crooker and her husband Edward of Portland, her son Robert Pierce and his wife April of Biddeford, brother James Stewart and his wife Sharon of Portland. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kimberly Saulnier and her husband Brad of Windham, Edward Crooker III and Fiancée Kelly Darling of Gorham, Cayden Pierce of Biddeford, Cassandra Jones and her husband Dan of Wells. Eight Great-Grandchildren, Michael John, Christian, Maddy, Ryleigh, Landon, Aidan, Jenna, Raelyn.

Connie’s family wishes to Thank her oncologist Dr. Bian and Connie’s team at Southern Maine Hospice for the great care and support given to her and her family during her illness.

Visiting Hours will be Monday, April 26, 2021 from 9 to 11AM with a funeral service to follow at 11AM. Committal will follow at Calvary Cemetery in South Portland.
