Carlene Bombaro Obituary

Carlene P. (Bossie) Bombaro passed away on March 26, 2021 at home in Scarborough Maine.

She was born on November 14, 1942 in Van Buren Maine, the daughter of Rowena (Plourde) and Patrick Bossie.

Carlene loved to have 4th of July cookouts, was an avid New England Patriots fan, and had a love of travel.

She enjoyed her three favorite travel spots of Aruba, Niagara Falls; and especially enjoyed her 50th anniversary cruise trip to the Caribbean with her husband Don. Carlene also enjoyed a special trip she had taken with her daughter Lisa to Hawaii.

Taking summer trips to York Beach with her daughters, granddaughters and great-grandaughters brought joy to Carlene. She enjoyed spending the day browsing all the shops, having lunch at the Goldenrod and buying several pounds of salt water taffy, especially her favorite peanut butter.

Carlene was predeceased by her brother Verne Bossie, and her sister Esther Mikolajcyk.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Donald Bombaro, Sr; her children, Donald Bombaro Jr and wife Cindy, Gina Cunningham and husband Bruce, Lisa Lance and husband Harry, Christopher Bombaro, Paul Bombaro and wife Kathie, David Bombaro and wife Brenda; her brothers Stephen Bossie and wife Debbie, Patrick Bossie and wife Amy, Robert Bossie and wife Carolyn, Thomas Bossie and wife Cathy; sister Alida Bossie-Bailey; sister-in-law Patricia Bossie; and her beloved companion Cosmo.

Carlene also has 17 grandchildren; Rebecca Bombaro and husband Bruce Fournier, whom she raised for the first 5 years of her life while her dad was serving in the US Navy, John Holman, Jason Keith and wife Dawn, Michael Stowe, Tonya Stowe, Carly Brill and husband Ben, Joseph Huntress and wife Taylor, Michelle Scott and wife Alice, Donna Jo Zmuda and husband Derek, Brian Cunningham, Danielle Bombaro, Karen Bombaro and husband Neil Wallace, Ericha Bombaro, Grant Boaz, Theresa Fuller and husband Chase, Griffin Boaz and wife Allison, and Elsie Mae Bombaro; 17 great-grandchildren; Haley Fournier, Dominic Fournier, Zachary Fournier, Taylym Zmuda, Nolan Zmuda, Garrett Perry, JJ Keith, Caleb Keith, Austin Keith, Brycelynn Brill, Emmalyne Brill, Jaxson Santaniello, Liam Stowe, Remy Stowe, Jackson Huntress, Samuel Bombaro and Franklin Bombaro; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held later this summer.
