We are very sorry to hear of Bryan's passing; he was a courageous and gracious guy - and a model parent for those of us who coached one or both of his boys in their many activities. He leaves quite a legacy, and many in Gorham - and elsewhere - will surely miss him.

Growing up in North Deering, Speirsy was part of "Our Gang". Every day we would make our own fun. Whether it was two on two basketball at the Lyseth school outdoor hoops, " automatic " baseball games at Lyman Moore, touch football games on "the island", I remember rarely beating Bryan. With his astounding memory and wit he never missed an opportunity to remind me of this. If his " trash talking" became a little too much , I would remind him that when it came time to pick sides for our games it was his sister Sam who we all wanted on our side ahead of Bryan. He would just nod and flash his grin.

Oh, the memories! Growing up in North Deering Speirsy was a member of "Our Gang". We created our own fun. Whether playing two on two basketball at the outdoor hoops at Lyseth school, " automatic" baseball games at Lyman Moore, touch football games at "the island", I don't remember ever beating him. With his legendary memory Bryan would remind me of this fact. However, when his " trash talking" became a little too much I could quiet him down by reminding him that when it came time to pick teams for our games it was his sister Sam who we all wanted on our side and she would always be higher in our kids draft! That always put that grin on his face. R.I.P. my friend. Stephen
