Portland, ME – Bonnie Blake Kam (78) of Portland, Maine, daughter of Kenneth Stanford and Ruth Nowers Blake, passed away on May 25, 2021. Bonnie was born on July 1, 1942 in Rockingham, Vermont and later moved to Dexter, Maine. She is a graduate of Dexter High School and Boston University’s Sargent College. Bonnie received a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of Hawaii.
She taught health and physical education in Maryland and Hawaii for 18 years and then served for three years as a Vice Principal at Nanakuli High and Intermediate school in Nanakuli, Hawaii. In 1985, Bonnie returned to Maine and was Assistant Principal at Windham High School for 12 years.
Bonnie was predeceased by her parents, Stan and Ruth Blake, and a sister, Janet Blake. She is survived by a son, Anthony Kam, and a grand-daughter, Madelyn Kam of Jacksonville, Florida; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Paul Cooper, of Southfield, Michigan; and two nieces, Cynthia Vails (Terrance) and Melissa Sargent, both of Michigan and several grandnieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held 2 PM Tuesday July 6th at First Congregational Church of Gray, 11 Yarmouth Rd, Gray, ME.
