For over twenty five years, April thru November, I looked forward to Tuesday's. Tuesday was our day. First we would go over the list, intermingling garden projects with the latest news and gossip. The list was a collaborative effort with ideas bantered about. Anne was always receptive to a new idea. She would listen patiently and was not afraid to reject an idea I might be over the moon excited about if she felt it wouldn't work. She always made me feel comfortable and always tried to do as much as she could to help. Her knowledge of gardening was remarkable and she taught me many tricks of the gardening trade. At the end of every day I would walk around the gardens looking for whatever tools I had misplaced and enjoy the beauty of Anne's inspirations. Now, when I look at my own gardens I see many plants that she shared with me and each one of them brings back a memory. I know that somehow, somewhere she is gardening now, pain free and making the next world as beautiful as she made this one.
