Yuey K ("John") Wong, 64, passed away unexpectedly on December 18, 2021 at Maine Medical Center in Portland, surrounded by loving family. He was born August 6, 1957 in Guangzhou, China, a son of Chiu Yuen Wong and Mei Jin Wu. At the age of 32, he immigrated to Portland with his family, and eventually moved to Gorham. He worked tirelessly to support his family, whom he deeply cherished.  Yuey is predeceased by his parents and brother-in-law, Ronnie Wan. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Rui Liang; daughter Linda (Wong) Cota and her husband Matthew; daughter Lisa Wong and her husband Matthew Kurz; sister Yuk Wan, nephews David and Robert; and many close friends.  Yuey will be remembered for his infectious laugh, caring and selfless nature. He loved tending to his garden and yard. He was most proud of his large gourds and blooming flower bushes. He immensely enjoyed cooking and eating food with his family. His daughters have joyful memories of him visiting, always with an abundance of freshly prepared dishes, soups, and garden vegetables.  At the request of the family, services will be private.
