William H. Thayer December 21, 1937 May 17, 2012 Old Orchard Beach - William H. Thayer, 74, of Old Orchard Beach passed away at his home on May, 17, 2012. He was born in Hopedale, Massachusetts on December 21, 1937, the son of the late Hamilton Webster and Elizabeth (Wood) Thayer. Bill grew up in Hopedale and Scraggy Neck on Cape Cod. He attended Tabor Academy in Marion, Massachusetts and was a graduate of Boston University. Bill served in the military during the Korean War. He was in the food industry most of his life. Then, he and his wife owned and operated West Coast Video in Portland. Bill is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sharon Thayer of Old Orchard Beach, his children William and Teresa Thayer of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, Lynne and Mike Blake of Newton, New Hampshire, Lori Thayer of Plaistow, New Hampshire, Dave and Sandra Lewis of Memphis, Tennessee, Cheryl Black of Old Orchard Beach and Sandi and Marc Fisher of Saco. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Nick, Lauren and Andrew Thayer, Ashley and Lindsey Blake, Bryan Wood, Matt Black, Cali Fisher and Nicole, Tina and Danielle Lewis and great-grandchildren Julian and Peyton Lewis, as well as his sister Harriet Elder and brother-in-law Norwood Grant of Nashville, Tennessee. He was predeceased by his sister Roz Grant who recently passed away. ""Mr. Bill"" will be missed by his many friends and loved ones. Services will be private by his family. Arrangements are by A.T.
