Falmouth-William (Bill) Edward Bonnvie Sr. 87, was born in Portland, Maine on June 19, 1934. His parents were James and Mary (Farrington) Bonnvie. He passed away peacefully on March 6th, 2022 surrounded by his family.  Bill is survived by his wife Sally Bonnvie of 66 years, and their five kids who were his pride and joy: Barbara Bonnvie-Smith, William (Bill) Jr. (wife Debbie), Sally (husband Tim), James (wife Pam), and Theresa (husband Sam).  Bill was also survived by his ten grandchildren, Shawn and Derek Smith, Billy Bonnvie III (wife Jamie) and Brittany Nappi (husband JohnMichael), Timothy and Christine Verrill, Ryan and Julia Bonnvie, and Livia and Nicholas Serappa. Along with his three great-grandchildren Logan, Ethan, and Nicole Bonnvie.  Some other special people in Bill's life were his nephew Thomas and his wife Susie Farrington, as well as several other nieces and nephews, and his goddaughter Missy McDonough.  He is also survived by his two best friends Ben Sawyer and John P. Gorham.  Bill was predeceased by his parents, his brother Robert Farrington, sister Helen Belfontaine (Edward Belfontaine), and son-in-law Gordon (Buddy) Smith. Bill will be fondly remembered by his children and grandchildren's friends as Mr. B and by his friends as Captain Bill and Wild Bill. He will also be remembered by the Munjoy Hill, Portland, and Falmouth communities that loved him and will miss him dearly.  Bill attended Eliza Libby School, Jackson School, Sacred Heart, and Portland High School. Over the years he worked at the Osteopathic Hospital, Fuller's Auto Parts, and Shaw's. At Shaw's, he started in the maintenance department and eventually became the produce manager at Northgate, as well as the Falmouth and Mill Creek locations.  Bill was a proud lifetime member of the Amvets Post, Harold T. Andrews Post, Portland Elks Lodge, and the Portland eagles. He was a trustee for the past four years of Portland eagles. Bill served in the Army and the Maine National Guard and was on active duty at Fort Sam Houston in Texas as a medic. He was also a member of the Sea Scouts Bill was known for his sense of humor, contagious smile, and for never taking life too seriously.  Growing up he loved camping and spending time with the Sawyer family on Chebeague Island. He also enjoyed camping with his family all over New England and Canada. Bill and Sally loved to travel to their timeshare in Aruba. Bill was an avid boater and enjoyed cruising all through the coves and islands of Casco Bay in many different boats, his favorite boat was the "Good Life". He had a great love for playing cards with his friends and going to the casinos.  The Bonnvie Family would like to express their gratitude to the following people and organizations for their compassionate care for Bill: Poline, Kathy and Kathy's daughters, Kathy and Tracy, and the staff at Sedgewood Commons in Falmouth.  Visiting Hours will be held from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home. 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Monday, March 14, 2022 at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception 307 Congress St, Portland.
