Walter Craig Pride March 7, 1954 August 8, 2014 -Biddeford Craig Pride (Walter Craig Pride) died August 8, 2014 at Round Hill in Biddeford, Maine. He was born March 7,1954 in Portland, Maine and was educated in the Gorham schools, graduating from Gorham High School in 1973. Upon graduation he was a foreman for Foreside Contractors of Portland for a number of years; then went on to work for Pond Cove Millworks as a finish carpenter. Eventually, he was a self-employed carpenter and cabinetmaker. He was an extremely gifted craftsman. Craig designed and built his own home in Gorham, he was a self-taught painter, specializing in historic paintings based on rural and town life in the 1800's, clipper ships and the early shipyards of Bath. He donated many of his historical paintings to libraries in Cumberland County. Among his pastimes, Craig designed and built several private mechanized ski tows on farms in the Gorham area. He is survived by a brother, Ralph Pride of Cape Elizabeth, a sister, Cathy Pride of Portland, a daughter, Karen Platt, a son, Benjamin Lindner, and grandchildren, Alexander, Riley, Mason and Grace.
