Walter Corey Hemingway, III "Corey" May 7, 1965 January 12, 2014 Portland - Walter Corey Hemingway, III, ""Corey"", 48, of Portland and Grassy Key, FL passed away on January 12, 2014. He was born in Portland on May 7, 1965, the son of Walter ""Buddy"" Corey Jr. and Colleen (Brown) Hemingway. Corey grew up in Portland, graduating from Portland High School in 1983. Corey had many interests, including traveling, especially to warmer weather and the islands, pool, skateboarding and was an avid reader. Mostly, Corey loved cooking, weather it was preparing meals for his family or working as a chef and manager at different restaurants throughout the United States. Corey was a very friendly and social person. Everywhere he went he made lasting connections and maintained friendships with everyone from his earliest childhood friends to people he met on his travels. Corey was predeceased by his sister, Darcy, his grandparents Myron Brown and Walter Sr. and Mary Jane Hemingway. He is survived by his parents, his sister Kim Adams, his grandmother Mary Brown, his nieces Tia and Kali and his great-nephew Solon as well as numerous aunts, uncles and friends. He is also survived by his former wife and lifelong friend Heather. Friends and family are invited to visiting hours on Saturday, January 18, 2014 from 1 - 3pm at A.T. Hutchins Funeral and Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Ave. Portland. A funeral service will follow at 3pm at the funeral home.
