Walter R. Foster April 19, 1917 January 7, 2013 Walter R Foster passed away on January 7, 2013 at the ""Farm"" where he spend his final years with Kay, his friends and many cats. Walter was born in Bristol Maine, on April 19, 1917 to Jesse Harris Foster and Ruel Foster. He is predeceased by his parents and his two brothers Robert L. and Harris Foster. He is survived by his nieces and nephews. He lived in Bristol and Round Pond for many years where he was a fixture in the village and at his brother Robert's Auctions. Walter also spent many years in the Portland area where he called everybody ""Capt"" , he attended Grace Baptist Church. He worked at Goodwill for a brief period of time, but, he preferred doing odd jobs, mowing lawns, cutting wood and collecting recyclables on his own. He became well known in Portland. He would always greet you with a friendly smile as he blessed you. In later years he attended the Senior program at PSL where he made many friends. His life was very enriched from his attendance there. He loved to tell you he was an artist and that he made designs. he'd gladly sell you one for $5.00, because after all "" A man can't live on a thank you"". Walter was an old fashioned interesting character who brought joy and humor to those whose lives he touched. He was always glad to sing you a song. There will be an Internment and a Celebration of His Life at the ""Farm"" in April. The date will be announced
