Obituary

Walter Basnar June 6, 1930 May 12, 2013 Casco- Walter C. Basnar, 82, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2013 at the Androscoggin Hospice House. Born in Canada on June 6, 1930, he was a son of Clarence and Agnes Hosford Basnar. He served in the National Guard in W.W. II. Walter was self employed in many capacities over the years. He enjoyed the outdoors, owned a gun shop in Sebago and a bait shop in Casco. He was also a craftsmen, he could design and build almost anything with wood and so artistic that he could draw just about same. He was predeceased by his wife Bertha and a brother Derald. He is survived by his estranged wife Jae Basnar location unknown, a brother Reggie Basnar of New Hampshire, his eleven children and stepchildren, David Basnar, Sandy Basnar, Donna Basnar, Cindy Basnar, Tracy Sargent, Tammy Lunt, Melinda Gallant, Gary Gillis, Dennis Gillis, Ricky Gillis and Danny Gillis. The family would like to thank all who helped take care of Walter and came to visit in his final days. Graveside service will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Crooked River Cemetery, Naples. Following the service, a reception will be held at 206 State Park Rd.
