Vong Soeung-Luon passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. She was born in Battambang, Cambodia on January 6, 1965 to Soeung Touch and Ok Lim. She immigrated from Cambodia with her parents and five siblings to the United States after the Cambodian civil war in 1985.  Vong is married to Chhouk Luon and remained together for 37 years until Vong's passing in 2022. She lived most of her life in Portland, Maine, and lived her remaining years in Gorham, Maine. She worked mostly in the seafood industry in her earlier years and until recently she worked as a custodian at Breakwater School. Vong loved to spend her time with family, making and eating Cambodian desserts and took great pride in tending to her garden. She worked hard to make sure her family did not go through the same struggles as she did when she first immigrated to the United States. Her wish for the family was to live a happy, healthy and full life. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Chhouk Luon, daughters, Sokvonny Chhouk and Sokvanna Chhouk; grandson, Arlin Algarin-Chhouk; siblings and many nieces and nephews.  Funeral visitation will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2022, from 9am-12pm at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland ME 04101.
