Virginia " Ginger" Marie Kenney September 29, 1946 August 19, 2016 Virginia ""Ginger"" Marie Kenney, 69, of Bolton Street, died unexpectedly on Friday August 19, 2016. Born in New York City, NY, she is a daughter of James and Margaret McDonough Kenney. She graduated from St. Claire Nursing School in New York City in 1972 and graduated from Mercy College with a BS in Behavioral Science in 1980. Ginger was a nurse at the Morristown Memorial Hospital in New Jersey for over 20 years, retiring to Maine in 2010. During her retirement she volunteered at Maine Medical Center, the Portland Museum of Art and she facilitated cancer support groups. She was an avid reader, enjoyed attending the theater and live music, and doing crossword puzzles She was predeceased by a son Jason J. Longo. She is survived by her husband of 27 years Raymond G. Reid of Portland, her son Brian Longo and his wife Carla Taunton of Halifax, Nova Scotia and her brother James F. Kenney, Jr. and his wife Jackie of The Woodlands, TX. Visiting hours will be held from 10am - 12 pm and 4 - 7 pm on Wednesday August 24, 2016 at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Ave, Portland, where a funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Thursday August 25, 2016.
