Thomas Richard Ruggiero "Tommy" June 1, 1958 May 3, 2012 Thomas ""Tommy"" Richard Ruggiero, age 53, died at home in Portland, Maine May 3, 2012 following a difficult struggle with his health for many years. He recently battled severe bouts of pancreatitis, kidney failure and a reemergence of cancer. Born June 1, 1958 to Michaelangelo and Angelina Ruggiero and raised in Newark, New York. Tommy was proud to have served with the Navy for a period as a young man. He held many different jobs but favored working in the health field as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Family Support Aid until his health would no longer allow him to work. He was active in his local Baptist church. Tommy is survived by his wife, Heather and her daughter, Haley; a beloved granddaughter, Angeline; and grandson, Michael; and his very close friend who was like a daughter, Jennifer Crooks. He is survived by numerous other relatives. Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Michaelangelo Ruggiero; his mother, Angelina Bartucca Ruggiero; and two brothers. Relatives and friends are welcome at A.T. Hutchins Funeral and Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland, ME on Friday, May 11, 2012.
