Tom began working for Great Northern Paper Company in 1968, and progressed rapidly, becoming Controller in 1978. After the acquisition of Great Northern Nekoosa by Georgia Pacific Corp in 1990, Tom worked as a Special Consultant for them and later for Bowater Inc. He is survived by his loving wife Linda, son Michael of Yarmouth, daughter Jill and son-in-law Adam Fanucci of Portland, and many loving nieces and nephews. Tom had a deep and profound love of the beautiful woods and waters of Northern Maine. His favorite spot was the camp he built over 40 years ago on Norway Island on Millinocket Lake . He and his family enjoyed many wonderful summer and fall days on this spectacular island overlooking Mt. Katahdin. Tom had the quiet, extraordinary competence of a true Maine woodsman. He embraced all four seasons and enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, boating, and snowmobiling with men he had known for over 40 years. He treasured these lifelong friendships. Tom Kelly was a wonderful husband, father and friend. All who knew him realize we have lost a loving, kind, and generous man. Our family wishes to thank the compassionate caregivers at SCU 2 at MMC.
