Theresa "Delores" Joy         1936- 2023 Portland- Theresa "Delores" Joy, 87, of Taft Avenue, passed away on Wednesday August 2, 2023 At her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Portland on January 14, 1936 a daughter of Vincenzo "James" and Josephine ( Adrio) Aceto. Delores was educated in Portland schools and attended Portland High School. For many years she was a caregiver to local families. Delores loved cooking especially Italian Food and she loved to feed everyone. She will be remembered as a fun grandmother and someone who was loving, strong, kind, And hardworking, and will be greatly loved and missed by all who knew her. Delores is survived by her children; Eldon Joy of Mesa, Arizona, Stephen, Mark & Lisa Joy all of Portland,  Kelly Lundgren of Port Orange, Florida, and Jennifer McKenna of South Carolina. She is also survived by a sister Anna Flaherty and Sister-in-law Sandra Aceto both of Portland; Six Grandchildren Katie, Jennifer, Carolyn, Jessica, Jessie & Brandon; several Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren. Delores was predeceased by her husband Eldon Joy, Sr., brothers Dominic Aceto & wife Margaret,Anthony Aceto & wife Letitia, and  Joseph Aceto; Sisters Mary Williams, Jane Tabb, Gloria Stewart, Irene Aceto, Dianne Pardu & husband Ronald, Frances Conley & husband John. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Tuesday August 8, 2023 at A.T.Hutchins Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Avenue, with visitation from 10 AM until time of service. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Stevens Avenue in Portland.
