Terry Lee Yates June 15, 1959 August 25, 2013 Portland, Terry Lee Yates, 54, Terry left us unexpectedly Sunday, August 25, 2013 to be with his Savior. Born and raised in NW Indiana, Terry grew up in Portage, Indiana. He graduated from Portage High School in 1977. He enlisted and served 8 years in the military before moving to Texas after completing his service. There he started a family and had 4 beautiful children. Spending time with his family, children and grandchildren is what he loved most! He worked extremely hard to provide for his family and he was without a doubt a great father! So many great memories, he loved to have cookouts, swim parties and an occasional round of golf. He recently moved to Portland, Maine where his older daughter's and grandchildren live. He had a huge heart and was full of love and will be sorely missed by all who loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Chuck Yates and his brother's Don and Bruce Yates. He is survived by his loving family, daughter Jennifer (Husband Josh) daughter Hannah, his son Kyle and daughter Kayla and is brother's Dwane (wife Patty) and Ron (wife Robin). A graveside service with military honors will be held on August 29, 2013 at the Southern Maine Veterans' Cemetery in Springvale, Maine. .
