Susan Ellen King August 24, 1949 October 4, 2016 Susan Ellen (Rodgers) King passes away October 4, 2016. She was born August 24, 1949 in Portland to Earl and Lois (Clark) Rodgers. Susan graduated from Deering High School in 1967. She worked at A&P, Sullivan Photo Service, Cumberland Farms where she opened 7 different stores, and as an Office Manager for 13 years for Dr. Ann Babbitt and 10 years for Dr. Gwendolyn O'Guin. Throughout her life she lived in Maine, Connecticut, Florida, Alaska, Georgia, and back to Maine. She married Lou King on August 17, 1996 at Two Lights in Cape Elizabeth. Susan enjoyed doing crafts and making cards. She had fun on her trips to Vermont and also enjoyed cooking. She was famous for her needhams, lasagna , and T.V. mix. She was a 20 year member and past president of the Altrusa Club of Portland. She loved spending time with her family and granddog Gracie. She will be remembered for her smile and her willingness to give a hug and listen. Susan was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her loving husband of 20 years Lou King whose exceptional care and sincere sense of humor and love of Christian music got her through her tough battle with ovarian cancer. She is also survived by: her mother Lois Rodgers; children John Finch, Andrew Finch and his wife Caitlyn, Christina King, and Deidra Mallory and her husband Armand; grandchildren Caitlyn, Amanda, Dominic, and Alex; granddog Gracie; brother Sydney Rodgers and his wife Sharon; sister Janet White and her husband Peter; life-long friend Candy Gilding; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Maine Medical IV Therapy Unit in Scarborough A memorial visitation will take place from 3:00 - 5:00 PM on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at A.T.
