Portland - Susan P. (Constantine) Jarrell, 72, died on September 11, 2019 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House after a short struggle with cancer. Born in 1947 in Bangor, Maine, Susan graduated from John Bapst High School in 1965. She went on to work as an L.P.N. before going back to school to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1982 to become a Registered Nurse. She worked in the Recovery Unit at St. Joseph's Hospital in Bangor before moving to Portland in 1990 to work for Spring Harbor Hospital. She was employed there until her retirement in 2011. Susan's passion was her dogs and she had several during her lifetime. She is predeceased by her parents John Constantine and Florence (Constantine) Wood and survived by her son Todd, sisters Bonny Cassily, Jill Ramage and Jane Drake, 2 brothers-in-law and several nieces and nephews. Any memorial donations can be made to the ASPCA or the Animal Refuge League. A short service will be performed at A. T. Hutchins Funeral Home on September 19, at 11:30 am followed by a burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Bangor, Maine.
