Susan (Sue) J. Borrelli January 14, 1941 December 21, 2012 Portland - Susan (Sue) J. (Probert, Andrews) Borrelli of Portland passed away unexpectedly on December 21, 2012 at the Maine Medical Center. She was 71 years of age. Our Mum was the beloved wife of the late Vincent Borrelli .She leaves behind her heartbroken children, Francesca (Borrelli) DeQuinzio and her husband Thomas, grandchildren Catherine, Molly and Rachel of Abington, MA, Juliette (Borrelli) Mohan and her husband Kenneth, grandchildren Jacqueline (Terrano) Gaunder and her husband Nate, Vincent Mohan, Great Grandchildren Kiley MacVane and Leah Gaunder all of Portland, ME. She is also survived by her sister Sally Andrews from Ontario, Canada and her great Auntie Kathleen of Nova Scotia, Canada, brother Joseph Borrelli, sister Marilyn Borrelli of Glassport, PA. Sue has many nieces and nephews in both Canada and Pennsylvania. Sue was born in Surrey England on January 14, 1941 to Sydney and Marjorie Probert. Her father sadly died as a casualty in WWII. Her mother remarried to George Andrews and moved to Canada and added two beautiful sisters for Susan, Jill Harvey (deceased) and Sally Andrews (Ontario, CAN). She met her soul-mate Vince in Nova Scotia and they married on November 14, 1959. They settled in Portland, Maine where they happily raised their family. Sue was an avid reader, knitter, crafter, cook and beader, but her greatest love was being a grandmother and watching her grandchildren grow up. Her curiosity of people and history made her a tremendous resource for all subjects and always reminded us to be grateful. She was a loyal friend and parent, her kitchen was always open, she knew how to keep a secret and had the patience of a saint. She was proud of her English heritage and has left us with many traditions from that culture. Sue is also survived by her dear friends, Eleanor, May, Jeanette, Shirley and many others. Also, thanks to the kindness of our nurses in the CICU unit at the Maine Medical Center, Emily and Angel, they consoled and advocated for us is a way that never will be forgotten. We prayed for Grace and they ensured her passing had dignity and peace. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Life Tribute service for Sue on Saturday, January 5, 2012 at 10 AM at A.T. Hutchins Funeral and Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, on Stevens Avenue, Portland.
