Stephen J. Tapley June 22, 1982 September 25, 2014 Stephen J. Tapley, 32, of South Portland passed away unexpectedly on Thursday September 25, 2014. The son of Michael and Betty (Slater) Tapley of South Portland he was born on June 22, 1982. Stephen graduated from Portland High School in 2000. He was self employed. Stephen was a big Boston Bruins and Portland Pirates fan, he played youth hockey at the Portland Police Station. He also loved listening to the sports talk radio. In addition to his parents Stephen leaves behind: his wife Stacy (Frost) Tapley, his son Jonathan, and stepchildren Megan and Eric of Scarborough; his brother Kevin Tapley of South Portland; his brother Ryan Tapley and his fiancé Tanya of Portland; his grandmother Joyce Slater of Portland; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will especially be missed by his nephews Haydyn and and Brandon as well as his niece Abigail whom he loved dearly. Stephen will be missed very deeply by all who know him and his big smile. A funeral service will immediately follow visiting hours at 6:00 pm on Monday.
