Stephen F. Francis "Buzz" 1941 January 21, 2012 Portland - Stephen F. Francis passed away peacefully on January 21, 2012 after a long illness. He was born in Portland in 1941, the son of Frederick and Bernadette (Roma) Francis. He attended Portland schools, graduating from Portland High School. Stephen served honorably for four years in the United States Marine Corps. After his service in the Marines, he worked for New England Telephone Company for 25 years, retiring in 1991. Stephen ws predeceased by his parents and a sister, Suzanne Norden. He is survived by his wife, Judy, his son Stephen C. and daughter Teresa Francis, his brother David Francis, along with step-children, nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be from 2 - 4pm on Wednesday, January 25 at A.T. Hutchins, LLC, dba Independent Death Care of Maine, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland. There will be a memorial service with Military Honors immediately following at 4pm. The family would like to thank the staff at the Baron Center for their care of Stephen during his illness.
