IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stanley Charles
Warren Sr.
October 13, 1945 – March 18, 2026
Stanley Charles Warren Sr., 80, of Gorham, Maine, passed away on March 18, 2026, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House following complications from a stroke. Born in Portland, Maine, he was the son of Hallie Warren and Annie Mary Woronecka.
Stanley lived a life defined by dedication, hard work, and deep devotion to his family. He served in the Army National Guard as a rifle sharpshooter while also building a long and varied civilian career. He worked for S.D. Warren, F.S. Plummer Company, Maine Properties LLC, and Hannaford, but he spent most of his working years in house construction and property maintenance — a field where his skill, reliability, and strong work ethic were unmistakable.
Stanley had a gift for finding joy in simple, meaningful things. He loved collecting hats, toy cars, and collector knives — and he especially enjoyed showing his hat collection to everyone who visited. His camp in Eustis was his sanctuary, where he found peace in hunting and the quiet of the outdoors. At home, he took great pride in caring for his yard, always eager to mow, landscape, or shovel, no matter the season.
For 61 years, Stanley cherished his life with the love of his life, his wife Mary Ann. Together, they built a life rich with companionship and shared traditions. They especially enjoyed bowling and playing cribbage, creating memories that their family will hold close forever.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Mary Warren; his children Mike Cox, Stanley C. Warren Jr. and his wife Janet, and Laura Smith and her husband Ronald; and his grandchildren Tristan Cox, M. Stanley, Brittany Warren, Alex Smith, and Anna Smith. He will be remembered with love by all who knew him.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Maine Health, Palliative Care, and the compassionate staff at Gosnell House for their exceptional care and support.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Stanley’s legacy lives on in the family he loved, the work he took pride in, and the countless moments of kindness and strength he shared throughout his life.
