Sarah G. Love November 19, 1929 April 21, 2014 Scarborougha€""Sarah G. Love passed away peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2014 at the Maine Veterans' Home. Sarah was born on November 19, 1929 in Corbettown, Pennsylvainia, the seventh of eleven children born to Irvin Jacox and Izie Berkhouse Jacox. Sarah graduated from Bradford High School and went on to attend the Episcopal Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia. She entered the army in 1952 and served as an Army nurse in Korea until 1955. She received the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal & the National Defense Service Medal. As a captain in the Army Reserves she worked at the National Institute of Health, Walter Reed Hospital and Brighton Marine Hospital. In 1962 she married Edison Love and was a devoted wife for forty nine years. She supported his fishing career leaving Massachusetts to live in Alaska and finally settled in Maine. She enjoyed being a wife and mother, gardening, and baking. Sarah was a member of the Falmouth Baptist Church and was reknown for her pies at the church suppers. She is survived by her son Michael and his wife Joyce, of North Yarmouth and her daughter Anne and husband Rodney Coleman of Falmouth; two sisters, Julu Grindle of Bar Harbor and Esther Jacox of Kansas City, Missouri; two brothers, Roy Jacox and his wife Sandra of Edmund Oklahoma, Blaine Jacox and his wife Myrna of Avon New York, four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A Christian burial with Military honors will be held on Friday, May 9th at 11:00 at the Old Landing Cemetery in Marion Massachusetts.
