Rose M. Viscone July 1, 1913 October 26, 2012 Scarborough - Rose M. Viscone, 99, of Portland, passed away at the Gosnell Memorial House on October 26, 2012. Rose was born in Portland, on July 1, 1913, one of thirteen children of Luis and Pamela (Nadeau) Moulton. She grew up on a farm on Warren Ave. in Portland. Rose did not care that much for school, so one day she and her sister Mary decided to hop a train and take a ride. It ended a short time later by the railroad and they were promptly brought back to school. Rose married Samuel Viscone on December 12, 1928. Family was everything to Rose, her whole world revolved around her six children. That importance really came together in 1947, when at the age of 35, she lost her beloved husband. With all that was thrust upon her at this young age, she retained her good humor and was always there for her children. Her life was her home. Once the grandchildren started to arrive, her heart grew larger with each one. Rose was always sneaking money to the kids and telling them not to let their parents know. When the cameras came out, she turned into quite the ham. Rose loved to shop for the little nick-knacks that she had all around her home. She really loved horses and almost anything red. She would occasionally go out and socialize with friends, but that happened less often as time went by, because she would ultimately out live many of them. Rose was predeceased by three sons, Robert, Anthony and Charles Viscone. She was also predeceased by her parents; three brothers, Joseph, Amile and Frank Moulton, along with two sisters, Caroline Rist and Catherine Fuessel. Rose is survived by her children, Frank Viscone of Portland, Josephine Leighton and her husband Norman of Westbrook, and Nancy Bickford and her husband John of Portland. She is also survived by her brother Philip Moulton of Buxton and her sisters, Mary Landry of South Portland, Gladys DiFazio, Lorraine Wing, both of Portland, Dorothy Hayes of Westbrook, along with Marjorie Lenois and Arlene Stence, both of Connecticut. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 8 PM on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at A.T. Hutchins, LLC Funeral and Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Ave, Portland. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home at 9 AM on Monday, October 29, 2012, followed by a 10 AM mass of Christian burial at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 72 Federal St, Portland. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, South Portland. To offer words of condolence and share memories with the family, please go to the obituaries section at www.athutchins.com
