Rosaleen O'Shea Wade October 11, 1934 January 30, 2013 Service Date Change: The prayer service for Rosaleen will now be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 2pm at the Chapel on the SMCC Campus, 71 Fort Rd. South Portland, ME. Portland- Rosaleen O'Shea Wade, 77, finished her earthly journey in the wee hours of January 30, 2013 at The Cedars. Her long quiet struggle was lovingly attended by her family and the faithful Cedars staff. Rosaleen was born in Sligo, Ireland, on October 11, 1934, a daughter of John and Kathleen O'Shea. She arrived in America in 1958 with her husband and three small children. The family settled in New York City and quickly established a neighborhood market on St. Nickolaus Avenue which they ran together for thirty years. Rosaleen also spent time as a nursing assistant at Wadsworth Hospital during the early 1960's. In later years she willingly and compassionately cared for friends and family when called upon. She was a wonderful cook, a magical hostess, a prize winning dancer and a witty story teller. She is welcomed home by her husband, Sean Edward Wade; a son, John Francis Wade; brothers, Desi and Tony O'Shea. She will be sadly missed by her son Richard Wade; daughter, Ann Marie Knoepfel; grandchildren, Rosaleen, Ryan, Christina, Diana and Lindsey; brother, Jerry; sister, Muriel and many nieces and nephews. A prayer service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at The Chapel on the SMCC campus, 71 Fort Rd, South Portland.
