Portland - Ronald Podlaski (79) of E Baldwin, Maine passed away peacefully on May 14, 2023 at Maine Medical Center after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. He is survived by his loving wife, best friend and caregiver, Patricia Van Ness of Baldwin, ME. His first wife, Christine, whom he was married to for 45 years, predeceased Ron in 2009. Ron is survived by his devoted children, Ronald Jr. of Limerick, ME, Christine (Chrissy) Sutton and her husband Scott of Raymond, ME, Michelle Biagoiotti and her husband John of Tennessee and stepdaughter, Jennifer Van Ness of Long Beach, CA. Ron also is survived by his cherished grandchildren, Rook, Mark, Kevin, Shannon, Alexander, Olivia, and Jessica and great-granddaughters Amelia and Jade. He is also survived by his siblings: Rita, Rosemarie, Regina (Jeannie), Robin, Diane (Dee Dee), David and Stephen and predeceased by Ruth, Robert (Bobby), Roy, Raymond and Richard (Richie). Ron leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews as well as his multiple friends, who will miss him.  Ron was born and raised in South Boston, MA in a loving home he shared with his parents Valentine and Mary and 12 other brothers and sisters. Ron was a proud Marine and served his country proudly from 1962 to 1966. "Semper Fi" A Celebration of Life will be held at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Ave, Portland ME on June 22, 2023 from 11:30am ~ 1:00pm. Followed by a reception at Bruno's Tavern and Bar (details to come at service). In Lieu of flowers, the family asked that you consider making a donation in Ron's name to the Alzheimer's Association or St Jude's Hospital for Children.
