Robert Leo Hanson August 30, 1930 June 24, 2016 Robert Leo Hanson born August 30, 1930 passed peacefully at Maine Veterans Home, Scarborough. He was the son of Albert F and Hilda (Croteau) Hanson. Mr. Hanson is predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Jeannette L. (Davis) and his brother Richard G. Hanson. Mr. Hanson was a US Marine Corp. veteran who served during the Korean conflict. Mr. Hanson spent his lifetime working in the meat business at Amour, Triple M Meats, Cudahy Meats, and Mosey's Corn Beef, were he worked as a butcher, salesman, manager and President of the Grocer's Association. Robert always said his biggest accomplishment was his family. He loved Sunday dinners, holiday and summer gatherings to celebrate birthdays. He liked spending time with family and friends, golfing, fishing, hunting, camping and travel. He and Jeannette traveled to Alaska, Hawaii, many other states as well as Mexico, and Europe. He fondly remembered his 17 yearly trips back and forth to Florida with his son Rick and his dog Bucky. He resided most of his life in Scarborough. Mr. Hanson is survived by his three children, Suzanne L. Hart and her husband Tony of Merrimack, NH, Robert E. Hanson and his wife Cecilia of North Palm Beach, FL and Lisa J. Ranger of Scarborough. Seven grandchildren, Jennifer Marchand and husband Peter of CT, Matthew D. Ranger and wife Angie of Scarborough, Michael Bolduc and wife Anna of MA, Cherilyn Ranger of Scarborough, Randall Bolduc and wife Lisa of Elliot, Rachael Furbush and husband Jon of South Portland, Ashley Hart of NH. Ten great grandchildren, Catelyn Venegoni-Ranger, Jacob Marchand, Connor Marchand, Calvin Venegoni - Ranger, Benjamin Bolduc, Madelyn Bolduc, Samuel Bolduc, Anabelle Furbush, Mae Grace Bolduc, Jonathan Furbush, and one brother Donald Hanson of Florida. The family would like to thank the Iris Network Apartments, the Wardwell Assisted Living Neighborhood and the Maine Veterans Home for compassionate care of Robert over the past year. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday July 13, 2016, from 5-7 p.m. at the A.T. Hutchins funeral Home, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Thursday July 14, 2016 at St. Maximillian Church in Scarborough. Burial will follow in Blue Point Cemetery in Scarborough.
