Robert F. Driscoll, Jr. January 17, 1948 October 9, 2013 Robert F Driscoll Jr, 65, of Portland, passed away at his home on Oct. 9, 2013 after a long battle with Multiple Myeloma. He was born January 17, 1948 in Portland ME, a son of the late Robert F and Marjorie (Sylvester) Driscoll. Robert attended Portland area schools including Portland High School. He received degrees from both University of Southern Maine and Southern Maine Technical College. A Vietnam Veteran, he was a member of the Portland Fire Department for 23 years. After retiring from the fire department, he worked at Walmart in Falmouth where he enjoyed manning the jewelry counter and making friends while greeting. He was an Eagle Scout, and a founding member of TKE at Gorham State College. He enjoyed watching and playing golf, listening to KISS, spending time with family and friends, taking spontaneous drives, and rooting for the Giants. Robert was very proud of his heritage including his relatives who have monuments dedicated to them throughout the city of Portland. Robert is survived by his wife of 38 years, Frances (McDermott) Driscoll; daughters Mary-Frances Brown, her husband Clayton, and their daughter Sadie Jane Marie of Westbrook, and Rebecca Driscoll of Portland; and his puppy Murphy Francis. He will also be missed by his brother Joseph R Driscoll and his wife Kathleen of Yarmouth; best friend Stephen M Lowell of Portland; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation from 2-6 pm on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at A. T. Hutchins Funeral & Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland, where a funeral will be held at 11 am on Monday, October 14, 2013. Interment at Calvary Cemetery in South Portland will be at a later date.
