Richard Arthur Jordan Richard A. Jordan passed away early Wednesday morning 16 April 2025 at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough. He was born in Lewiston 22 March 1950 son of the late Arthur M. Jordan and Virginia L. Dwelly. He lived in Greene for the first several years of his life and the family then moved to Auburn where he went to school and grew up. He served in the USMC in Viet Nam at Red Beach. He worked as a metal fabricator and as a welder for most of his working career for a variety of shops in the area and was also self-employed. He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting until a stroke left him paralyzed on the right side. He would then spend time watching the birds and animals in the neighborhoods in Virginia or in Maine where he lived with Jason and Erika. He got around well in a wheelchair, but when he got a motorized one – you never knew where you were going to find him or what kind of escapades he was having, he made things interesting. His daughter Michelle and son Jason and his wife Erika, grandchildren Anthony, Casandra, Alanna, Bentley and Nova, and great grandchildren Bailey, A.J., and Aubrey, sisters Diane Langley and Beverly Nord and husband Mitch, and brother Roland and his wife Doreen survive him long with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers Ronald, Robert and Rodney. The family would like to thank the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough for the wonderful 4 years of care he received while there. Funeral arrangements are being handled by A. T. Hutchins Funeral and Cremation Services of Portland with an interment at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta at a later date. There will also be a celebration of Life held at a later date.
